The Perfect Valentine’s Gift

So my lovely wife of 12 years has given me the best gift ever for Valentines. Last year, I gave her 6 one hour deep tissue or hot stone massages from a licensed masseuse. She’s a stay at home mom, raising three boys who are like their father in their unique ability to make messes, and generally talk her ears off. We homeschool and when I say we, I mostly mean her. She’s a tremendous mom, wonderful wife and she deserves fine things. A year ago, I hoped to give something to really reduce her stress levels. Not just something covered in chocolate or a floral arrangement.

This year, however she gave me the perfect gift by losing (clearly not loosing–unless they are currently fluttering down the street in the wind) the above certificates. How, you may be asking, is this a wonderful gift to me? Well allow me to explain:

1. As you can see in my response, it gave me a wonderful opportunity to display patience, mercy, compassion and understanding, and love.   Which after 12 years, I’ve found my wife likes this.    And it was through a text no less!

2. Even better,  the pressure of giving the right gift is practically over.  Anything I give, will be accepted.  The mileage I can get from this could be incredible. Valentine’s day will be fine for years to come. However, it’s unclear how it will affect birthdays, Christmas, or anniversaries. Moreover, if I discover I need a new toy, I’m betting I get a little more leeway when questioned on the need for a new gun, bow, etc.   because the ever present response “at least I wont lose it,” could prove handy.

3. Lastly, I’m fairly certain I can get replacement massage vouchers. Thus, I can re-gift at a later date, saving me future gift giving troubles!

Luckily, my wife doesn’t read my silly writings and I know you will be sure to keep how much I appreciate her gift to yourselves.  Happy V-day everyone!
